Charcoal Roasted Iron Goddess
碳培鐵觀音
Sourced from the OG. Your new coffee replacement.
Deep charcoal roast aroma, toasted nuts, dark caramel — our Iron Goddess (also called Tie-guan-yin) is sourced directly from the Chang family in Muzha (木柵), descendants of the OG tea master who started it all.
In 1895, Zhang Nai-Miao (張迺妙) brought the first Iron Goddess seedlings from Fujian to the misty hills of Muzha and founded what would become Taiwan's largest Iron Goddess-producing region. Over a century later, Muzha remains one of the last places on earth still roasting Iron Goddess the traditional way.
The body is rich and layered, the aftertaste lingers for minutes. Pairs beautifully with cheese, red meat, and American-style desserts. Far less caffeine than coffee, far more complexity.
